Luxury retail design for Fourtané Jewelers
We are proud to be featured in the prestigious STORE BOOK 2025 with one of our latest projects: the flagship store of Fourtané Jewelers in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. This fully redesigned space makes a bold architectural statement, blending exclusive store design with meticulously planned interior architecture. Inspired by the unmistakable charm of a Parisian apartment, Studio Tonic developed a design concept that unites sophistication, elegance, and timeless aesthetics in perfect harmony.
Internationally recognized store design with distinctive character
The extensively redesigned store by Fourtané Jewelers impressed the STORE BOOK 2025 jury across the board. Presented across a double-page spread, the project is described as a seamless blend of “a subtle touch of old Europe” and “the relaxed ease of the American West Coast.” A shining example of forward-thinking brick-and-mortar retail – defined by timeless elegance, stylistic finesse, and a rich, emotional shopping experience.
Concept, design, and technical planning were entirely handled by Studio Tonic, while execution was carried out with utmost precision and dedication by our partner company Obrist interior AG. The result is a store concept that excels both aesthetically and functionally.

Published by the German dlv – Netzwerk Ladenbau, the STORE BOOK showcases around 60 of the world’s most innovative store concepts each year, spanning the fields of fashion, food, lifestyle, and more. The 12th edition of this annual compendium highlights how retail is reimagining customer experiences and adapting to shifting expectations.
In addition to curated store portraits, the STORE BOOK includes expert contributions from international retail and design professionals – making it an essential resource for anyone involved in retail design, interior fit-out, and the future of physical retail spaces.
Fourtané Jewelers: Parisian elegance meets Californian charm
Studio Tonic’s retail design for the new Fourtané flagship store artfully fuses historical architecture with modern sophistication. Located in a listed heritage building in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, the 280-square-meter space has been reimagined from the ground up. Inspired by the elegance of a Parisian apartment, the interior combines luxurious materials such as marble, brass, and velvet to showcase Fourtané’s exquisite jewelry in the best possible light.
The store invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of style, quality, and tradition – perfectly reflecting what Fourtané has stood for over the past 30 years.
